A boy, an old man and a donkey....

An old man and a young boy were traveling through a village with their donkey. The boy rode on the donkey and the old man walked beside it. As they went along, they passed some people who commented that it was a shame for the old man to walk when the able young boy was riding. The man and boy thought maybe the critics were right, so they changed positions.

Later, they passed a small village where some people remarked, "What a shame, he makes that little boy walk when he himself rides on the donkey". Upon hearing this remark, the old man and the boy decided that they both should walk.

Soon after, they passed another village and they heard them saying that they were silly to walk when they had a decent donkey to ride on. Again the old man and the boy looked at one another and thought that what the villagers had said were right. And so, they both decided to ride the donkey.

Not long from then, they passed another village and heard some people displaying their anger complaining "How awful to put such a load on a poor donkey." The boy and the old man thought again and said the villagers were probably right, so they decided to carry the donkey instead.

As they crossed the bridge, they lost their grip on the animal and he fell into the river and drowned. With a tear in his eye, watching his donkey being carried away by the current, the old man turned to the boy and said "Young boy, fools are the ones that listen to the world!"

Moral of the story.... if you start to listen and react with all the comments and complaints that you hear from those around you, you will never get your work done. Sometimes, it is good to deafen the ears, blind the sight and just go with your experience and instinct, do what you feel is right, decide what you know is right ....and bulldoze your way through....__,_._,___
